What happened to making "Mumbai into Shanghai" and "Delhi into ........", etc.? They remain the same(Slumbai), or might have gone from bad to worse, even after 10 years. So also, even if India attains the status of 3rd or 4th economic power in the world, the fate of average common man, in terms of his per capita income, remains the same. At least that's guaranteed by every political establishment, thanks to their unchanged corrupt mindset.
